Walk with Jesus on the Way of the Cross

The Way of the Cross is Jesus' walk as carried the cross to the hill where he was crucified.

All:  Dear Jesus, I have sinned.  For your suffering and your death on the Cross, have mercy on me and all sinners.    Mother Mary, teach me to love Jesus.

1.)

 LEADER: Jesus is condemned to death

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, you were condemned to death due to false witnesses.  Help us to be always truthful and never lie.

 

2.)

 LEADER: Jesus carries His Cross

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, because of your great love for us you carried the cross.  We want to be like you.  Help us to accept our difficulties and to help one another with you.

 

3.)

 LEADER: Jesus fall the first time

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, help us to be always good and if we fail, forgive us and help us to try again.

 

4.)

 LEADER: Jesus meets His Mother

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, we want to always console you.  Help us to console and pray for those who suffer.

 

5.)

 LEADER: Simon help Jesus carry the Cross

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, we promise to help everyone, as Simon did, specially Mom and Dad.  Give us the grace to always help the one who needs it.

 

6.)

 LEADER: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus 

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, help us to hace the courage to show kindness ans compassion to others.

 

7.)

 LEADER: Jesus fall a second time

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, our sins hurt you.  Help us to be sorry every time that we misbehave.

 

8.)

 LEADER: Jesus meets the woman crying for Him

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, sometimes we cry when things don't turn the way we want, and we make others feel bad.   Help us not to hurt our parents again with our foolishness.

 

9.)

 LEADER: Jesus fall a third time

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, you are teaching us that even if we fail many times, we can always star again with the help of your grace.

 

10.)

 LEADER: Jesus is stripped of His garments

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, clothe us with your grace to protect our innocence.

 

11.)

 LEADER: Jesus is nailed to the Cross

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, when you were nailed to the cross, you forgave all our sins.  Help us to be obedient and good, and ready to forgive all those who offend us.

 

12.)

 LEADER: Jesus dies on the Cross

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, thank you for your great love, for giving your life for us.  We want to love you more every day and make our lives a source of joy for you.

 

13.)

 LEADER: Jesus is placed in His Mother's arms

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Mother, you cleaned your son's wounds with such love!  Help us to love everyone who wounds us.

 Jesus is placed in the Tomb

ALL: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, prepare our hearts for you, make us your home and help us love you more.

 

15.)

 LEADER: The Resurrection of Jesus
CHILDREN: Dear Jesus, thank you for your great love, for giving your life for us.  We want to love you more every day and make our lives a source of joy for you.
FINAL PRAYER

 Dear Father, we thank you for having given us your Son Jesus.  Fill our hearts with your love, so that we may imitate Jesus ans follow the way that brings us to you Kingdom.  Amen.
